1. Lower Bergamo during the Christmas holidays
Elegant and dynamic, Lower Bergamo is a city full of shops, bars and restaurants. Interesting to visit throughout the year, under the Christmas period it acquires even more charm. The numerous illuminations enrich it and embellish the streets and historic districts, such as the Sentierone or the Borgo Piacentino.
Right on the Sentierone, the main avenue of the city, a Ferris wheel of over thirty meters and the Christmas Tree are set up. In the nearby Piazzale degli Alpini, there is the Christmas Market with the typical wooden houses, handicrafts, stalls and street food. And for those who want to stretch their legs, there is finally an ice skating rink.

2. Skiing in the Seriana Valley
In Val Seriana there are numerous areas where you can spend a pleasant day on skis or snowboards. The main one is that of Monte Pora and the adjacent Presolana Pass, at the foot of the peak of the same name. Spiazzi di Gromo and Lizzola are smaller, with slopes mainly suitable for families and beginners. Finally, in the adjacent Val di Scalve, it is possible to ski in Colere, which offers more challenging slopes and therefore suitable for the more experienced.
If you have more time available, we have talked about the most interesting things to do in Val Seriana in Winter in a dedicated article.

3. Skiing in the Brembana Valley
The Brembana Valley boasts the main ski areas in the province. The Foppolo-Carona is the highest in the Orobie, with a maximum height of 2163 meters. The Valtorta-Piani di Bobbio ski lift, which can also be reached from Val Sassina in Lecco, is the largest, with 12 ski lifts and 35 km of slopes.
Finally, it is also possible to ski in the small area of Piazzatorre, which is particularly suitable for families and beginners.
If you are planning to spend more time in this valley, we have suggested the 6 things to do in Val Brembana in winter in this other dedicated article.

4. A day on the snow and for families in Val Seriana
Even for those who do not know how to ski, it is possible to spend a pleasant day on the snow of the Seriana Valley. In fact, you can choose to follow one of the many snowshoe itineraries, such as the one to Monte Alto in the Presolana area or the Campelli, in Val di Scalve.
Alternatively, you can go down at full speed with a bobsleigh or a sled in Donico, in the Presolana area, or in Schilpario, in Val di Scalve. Or ice skating on the dedicated rink at the Spazi di Gromo facilities.

5. A day on the snow and for families in Val Brembana
Man does not live on slopes alone in winter. And in Val Brembana even families and those who do not use skis or snowboards find their space.
From the wild and solitary Val Terzera, to Monte Sodadura and the plains of Artavaggio, passing through the Gremei refuge in Piazzatorre, there are snowshoe itineraries suitable for every workout and leg.
Also in Piazzatorre there is also a large ice rink, a covered structure that allows you to ice skate throughout the winter season. Families can instead slide with bobsleighs and sleds on the gentle slopes of Monte Avaro or the Conca di San Simone. In addition, areas dedicated to bobsleighs and sleds are also planned in the Foppolo-Carona area.
During the winter season BergamoXP organizes snowshoeing with its mountain guides to the San Simone basin every Sunday, if you have no experience and want to approach this fascinating method to explore the mountains in winter, book your place with us!

6. Relaxation and Wellness in a spa
For those looking for tranquility and relaxation or a warm refreshment after a day in the snow, there is no more suitable activity than soaking in a thermal water tub or sauna.
The Bremban capital of San Pellegrino Terme, as the name suggests, is at the forefront in offering this type of experience. Here there is in fact the most famous and emblazoned structure in the province, QC Terme, inserted in the splendid context of the Municipal Casino.
However, many hotels and resorts also offer spas to their guests. These include the Agriturismo Ferdy and the Orobie Alps Resort in Val Brembana and the Alpen Spa and the Grand Hotel Presolana in Val Seriana.

For a unique winter experience, BergamoXP organizes a magical weekend in the snowy Val di Rezzalo, in Alta Valtellina, featuring easy hikes on groomed snow under the magic of the night and an exhilarating sled ride under the stars!
