Hiking to Mount San Primo

Hiking to Mount San Primo

On the summit of the Larian Triangle.

In this article, we describe the ascent to Mount San Primo, the highest peak in the Larian Triangle. Due to its relatively low altitude, it is well suited for spring and early season hikes. In particular, we describe the itinerary starting from the Colma di Sormano, where we leave the car. From there, we follow the dirt road with indications, which leads into the woods until reaching the Alpe Spessola, where the woods begin to thin out. Continuing along the path, never excessively steep, we reach the Alpe di Terrabiotta where we can finally see Lake Como. From there, continuing along the ridge of the mountain, we finally reach the summit of Mount San Primo.

Thanks to its strategic location, we can enjoy a wide panorama, which ranges over the entire Alpine and pre-Alpine arc on one side and the Apennines on the other. The view of all branches of Lake Como, is breathtaking.

The return is made along the same itinerary as the ascent.

This hike does not present any particular difficulties and is suitable for everyone, with a minimum of training.
