Balcony on Brianza.
The here described is an easy hike to Monte Linzone, on the Orobie Prealps, and in particular in the Imagna Valley. An outing that allows you to admire wide panoramas, ranging on one side to the lakes of Brianza, the Po Valley and, on clear days, as far as the Apennines; on the other side to the Maritime and Central Alps, as well as, of course, the Orobie.
We reach the village of Roncola San Bernardo and leave the car in one of the public car parks. From here, we walk to the cemetery and immediately follow the signs for the CAI 571 trail that leads us gently uphill into a beech forest. We continue along the main path, ignoring the numerous deviations until we reach a mountain hut, where the forest gives way to meadows and wide views of the plain below. From here, we follow the only well-marked path, which leads us to the ridge, where we find a small church carved out of an old stable, the Holy Family of Nazareth, and where we can already see the summit cross. Finally, we continue on this way, without the possibility of mistake, to the top of Monte Linzone.
The return is on the same route as the outward journey.
This hike does not present any particular difficulties and is suitable for everyone, young and old, with a minimum of training.
Always carefully plan your trips, choosing the appropriate material and equipment and verifying the itinerary before embarking on it.
