The House of Proverbs! Discover the Itinerary to Reach Cà Minelli in Alzano Lombardo with Us.
Cà Minelli is an ancient sixteenth-century noble residence nestled in the green woods of the lower Valle Seriana, in the village of Lonno, a hamlet of Alzano Lombardo. The building is characterized by walls painted in yellow and blue, and on every wall and corner of the house, there are proverbs, sayings, rhyming verses, life advice, and suggestions typical of folk wisdom. An easy and green path immersed in the woods of the lower Valle Seriana allows you to reach this house of wisdom.
TOTAL ELEVATION GAIN: about 300 meters
DURATION: 1.45h Outbound / 1.30h Return
START: Olera (BG)
ARRIVAL: Cà Minelli (BG)
The starting point for this route is in Olera, a small and characteristic hamlet of Alzano Lombardo in the lower Valle Seriana. Leave your car in one of the public parking areas in the village and reach the Church of San Rocco, the starting point of our route. We follow the CAI 532 trail, which, with a mid-level forest path, allows us to partially circumnavigate Monte Colletto and reach the hamlet of Burro, another hamlet of Alzano Lombardo, in a short time.
We pass through the small settlement, continuing along the forest path, and descend to reach the Nesa stream, which we cross on a small bridge. Shortly after, at a junction, we turn left and ascend through the woods.
Shortly, we then reach the hamlet of Brumano, another small fraction surrounded by green meadows and woods. At the church, the forest path gives way to asphalt, and we continue on it until the road once again becomes a forest path. After a few hundred meters through the woods, at a junction, we turn left, leaving the CAI 532 trail, and descend briefly to reach Cà Minelli.
The building appears abandoned, but the yellow and blue colors of the walls are still vibrant, and the numerous proverbs painted on the walls and corners of the house are clearly readable.
The return follows the same route taken on the way there.
