general description
This proposal is a full day excursion with our kayaks, a short expedition.
Lake Novate Mezzola is located at the foot of the Chiavenna Valley. Generated by the Mera River, a tributary of the Adda, it is part of a splendid natural setting, surrounded by spectacular cliffs which, as it descends southwards and Lake Como, give way to the reeds and marshes of the Pian di Spagna Nature Reserve.
The departure is set at Ponte San Pietro, in the Penny Market parking lot, where we will meet. With our shuttle we will then move to Novate Mezzola, the boarding point.
We will dedicate the whole day to exploring Lake Mezzola, observing the famous Sanctuary of San Fedelino, the Val Cavra waterfall, the cliffs overlooking the lake of Mount Peschiera. Then, leaving the lake, we will enter the Pian di Spagna nature reserve, a paradise for water birds.
A herd of deer also lives in the reserve. Since the proposal is made in autumn, the mating season of these animals, with a little luck we will be able to hear their powerful calls of love, the bellowing, and see them looking out over the body of water.
After the lunch break, with a packed lunch, we will retrace the route of the outward journey and return back to Novate Mezzola.

Necessary Equipment and Prerequisites
The exit is technically easy, but we will travel about 20 km and therefore a minimum of physical condition or experience is required.
We provide the technical equipment, you just need to bring: t-shirt, swimsuit or shorts, sports or rock shoes, hat, sunglasses, water bottle, towel and spare dry change. Also remember to bring your own packed lunch!

The program may be subject to changes in case of adverse weather conditions.
The tour will take place also in case of bad weather, with the proviso that the guide reserves the right to decide whether the conditions exist for the trip to be safely and fully run.
In case the tour is suspended due to adverse weather conditions, you can recover it on a date to be agreed or you will be fully refunded.
Minimum age 16 years.
The exit will be confirmed upon reaching at least 4 members.

Participants are entitled to full refunds for cancellations prior to 7 days before the trip
Cancellations from 1 to 6 days before the start of the tour are liable for 100% cancellation fees.
