The Cenghen waterfall is a spectacular and evocative waterfall that develops within a crack in the rock of the Grigne Mountains, on the Lecco side of Lake Como. Thanks to the freshness of its waters and the shady, sheltered location surrounded by dense forest, it is an excellent destination for escaping the heat of the summer months. <\/p>\n\n

We reach Linzanico, a fraction of Abbadia Lariana, by car, where we park. From the square with the washing place, we take the wide dirt road that offers views of Como lake and the olive groves. <\/p>\n\n

We then take the path indicated for the waterfalls and start climbing in the forest. When we reach a house, we find a white arrow pointing to the right. Taking this path will slightly lengthen our journey, but we will pass through the charming village of Calech and have a spectacular view of Como lake and the Grigne Mountains. We follow the next white arrow, this time to the left. We continue keeping the path, always uphill, until we reach the Cenghen waterfall. <\/p>\n\n

The waterfall is truly majestic and evocative and some pools of crystal-clear water alternate with large rocks, providing space for a pleasant picnic in the coolness emanating from the waterfall itself.<\/p>\n\n

The return journey takes place on the path taken on the way up.<\/p>\n\n

The hike does not present technical difficulties, and with a little more patience, can also be traveled by families with small children.<\/p>\n\n
