An unspoiled valley<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The itinerary described here is an easy snowshoe hike in Rezzalo valley, in High Valtellina.<\/p>\n\n

We reach the village of Fumero, a fraction of Frontale, and continue following the signs to the refuge La Sosta, as far as the road allows. We then leave the car in one of the parking areas on the sides of the road.<\/p>\n\n

Usually, the path is groomed with a snowcat by the refuge keeper, so snowshoes are not necessary. However, if we prefer, we can put them on now. We walk along the only path, a wide forestry and pastoral road that climbs, with gentle slopes, a beautiful coniferous forest. Once out of the forest, we notice the location of Baite Pontella, and the slope becomes gentler. Continuing, keeping the forest on the left and the Rezzalasco stream on the right, we encounter other groups of mountain huts, Mason de la Via, Salina and finally Baite di Teat. At this point, the path becomes almost flat and soon we reach the fork that leads us to the refuge La Baita, where we can stop to warm up and recharge our batteries. The more fit can continue to the Merlo location, where there is a bridge.<\/p>\n\n

The return takes place on the same itinerary as the outbound journey.<\/p>\n\n

This hike does not present any particular difficulties and is suitable for everyone, with a minimum of training.<\/p>\n\n
