From here, our 2 km route starts, finally reaching the village of Santa Maria del Monte. “The chapels we will encounter are all true works of art, frescoed, painted and with sculptures. They tell the mysteries of the Rosary. Upon arriving in Santa Maria del Monte, we can then visit the sanctuary, the true apex and focus of the entire route, and the crypt below. The village itself is very picturesque, with narrow covered alleys, and from which you can enjoy a wide panorama, ranging from the Lombard Prealps, the Po Valley, the Apennines to all the forests of the Campo dei Fiori Regional Park, which extends to meet the city of Varese. However, the places to visit do not end here. In fact, inside the village it is also possible to find the astronomical observatory, a center for scientific dissemination, the Museo-Villa Lodovico Pogliaghi, the residence of the brilliant architect, and the Baroffio Museum, which collects masterpieces of Lombard art. The return can take place on the same route as the outward journey, or by public bus, or by the suggestive funicular, recently restored.

This excursion does not present any difficulties and is suitable for everyone, adults and children.

Always organize your trips with care, choose appropriate equipment, and verify the itinerary before embarking on it.

BergamoXP

BergamoXP is the first aquatic sports center in the province of Bergamo.
